The ranked statewide range was 229.3–312.9 c/L, a spread of 83.6 c/L. One extreme source report was retained as reported metadata but suppressed from rankings and these aggregates pending confirmation.

What changed since 30 August.

Compared with Fuel Finder VIC’s previous dated Diesel snapshot, the statewide median was unchanged at 254.9 c/L, while the number of priced sites was two higher. The number of distinct published values moved from 151 to 138. These are two delayed point-in-time captures—not proof that prices were stable between them or evidence of a continuing trend.

Eight local comparison areas.

Each row uses a 50 × 50 km square centred on the named area. Squares can overlap and contain different numbers of stations, so they should not be combined or treated as a league table.

How to read the snapshot.

Delayed, not real time

Service Victoria prices are published with an approximately 24-hour delay. A displayed value may differ from the pump price when a driver arrives.

Diesel fallback disclosed

Standard Diesel is preferred. A clearly identified Premium Diesel value is used only when it is the site’s sole published diesel price. This applied to 692 statewide records in this snapshot.

One point in time

This is a dated descriptive snapshot, not a prediction. Prices, products, opening hours, access and facilities can change after capture.

Route and discounts still matter

The fuel and time used on a detour can outweigh a lower price, while an eligible personal offer can change the effective ranking. Fuel Finder VIC never stacks discounts.

Important travel notice

These figures do not guarantee the current pump price, product availability or the cheapest total journey. Confirm the price, opening hours, access conditions and required facilities directly with the station before travelling. Heavy-vehicle users must also confirm legal access, restrictions, clearance and turning space.
